New York, February 5, 2025 – Getty Images, in partnership with Verizon and the National Disability Leadership Alliance (NDLA), is offering a $20,000 creative grant to support photographers and videographers capturing authentic portrayals of professionals with disabilities.

Addressing Disability Representation

While diversity in media has improved, 75% of visuals featuring disabilities still depict healthcare settings rather than workplaces. This initiative seeks to change that narrative by showcasing people with disabilities as thriving professionals and leaders.

Grant Details & Prizes

  • First-place: $10,000
  • Second-place: $7,000
  • Third-place: $3,000

A panel of industry experts and disability advocates will select winners.

How to Apply

Applications are open globally to photographers and videographers. Required submissions include:

  • A portfolio of previous work
  • A 200-500 word project proposal and mood board
  • A short essay outlining the approach

The deadline for submissions is March 7, 2025, with winners announced the week of April 28, 2025.

Impact & Support

This initiative builds on The Disability Collection, which has added over 12,000 images since 2018. Winners will have the option to license their work on Getty Images at a 100% royalty rate and receive mentorship from Getty’s Art Directors.
