DUPAGE COUNTY, Illinois — DuPage County has launched a new round of grants aimed at supporting small nonprofit organizations that provide job readiness, food assistance, and other essential community services.

The county has allocated $1.05 million for the second round of its Small Agency Grant Program for fiscal year 2025. The funding, derived from investment earnings on American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds, will provide grants ranging from $5,000 to $30,000 to eligible nonprofits.

Who Can Apply?

The grants are open to nonprofit organizations in DuPage County that focus on:

  • Economic development and job readiness programs
  • Literacy, education, and mentoring initiatives
  • Housing and shelter assistance
  • Behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment
  • Food assistance and nutrition programs

Funding Criteria

To qualify, nonprofit organizations must meet financial criteria, including an annual revenue of less than $300,000 as reported on their most recent AG990-IL tax form or an average revenue of less than $300,000 over the past three years.

The grant program was first introduced in fiscal 2023 to support smaller nonprofits that had not previously received ARPA or CARES Act funding.

Equitable Distribution of Funds

Funds will be distributed equally among the county’s six board districts, with $175,000 allocated to each district for nonprofit agencies operating within their boundaries.

Application Deadline

Grant applications will be accepted until April 4. Nonprofits interested in applying are encouraged to submit their applications before the deadline to ensure eligibility.
