Published on: 2025-02-01

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) is now accepting applications for its 2025 grant cycle, providing crucial funding to nonprofit organizations committed to connecting volunteer financial planners with individuals in need.

Who May Apply?

Any U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aligns with FFP’s mission to assist underserved individuals in achieving financial stability and capability may apply for funding.

When Can I Apply?

FFP accepts grant proposals annually from mid-January to April 30 through its online application portal. Applications undergo a rigorous review process led by FFP’s independent Grants Committee, composed of financial planners and industry leaders.

How Much Support is Available?

Annual grants typically range from $5,000 to $40,000, though exceptions are made for programs demonstrating exceptional impact. To date, FFP has awarded over $9.3 million in grants.

What Programs Are Funded?

Eligible programs must:

  • Engage CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals as volunteers.
  • Facilitate one-on-one engagements between CFP volunteers and pro bono clients.
  • Support individuals in financial crisis who lack access to quality financial advice.
  • Be scalable, replicable, and sustainable.

Funding is available for new and ongoing programs, as well as initiatives adding financial planning components to existing services. Past grants have supported programs for military families, individuals with cancer, domestic violence survivors, seniors, and low-income communities.

2025 Grant Recipients

In 2025, 23 nonprofit organizations across 16 states will receive funding from FFP. These grants will support a range of impactful programs designed to help individuals navigate financial challenges, access critical financial education, and build a stable economic future. The full list of grant recipients will be available on FFP’s website.

Special Recognition: The Alexandra Armstrong Innovation Grant
