Monroe Fund Now Accepting Grant Applications for Community Projects

MONROE, WI – The Monroe Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, is now accepting grant applications for charitable projects that benefit the Monroe community. Other competitive grant opportunities include the Reasa Charitable Fund, Reasa Fund for Historical Preservation, Clair Fund, Dr. Fred & Alice Kundert Charitable Fund, The Etter Legacy Fund, and the Ray and Betty Stamm Charitable Fund.
Who Can Apply?
The Monroe Fund provides grants for nonprofit organizations within the Monroe School District boundary. Eligible projects may include:
- Enhancements to parks and public spaces
- Historic and cultural preservation efforts
- Youth activities
- Educational programs
- Arts initiatives
- Health and human services
As per federal tax laws, individuals cannot apply for funding.
Application Deadline & Process
Grant applications must be submitted online at www.cfsw.org by 11:59 p.m. on April 15. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The Foundation does not accept applications via mail, email, or fax.
Successful applicants will be notified by mail, and grants will be awarded at a reception in June, with details to be announced later. Grantees must utilize the funds within ten months of receiving the award.

How to Prepare a Competitive Grant Application
Nonprofits seeking competitive grants should prepare in advance. Required documents typically include:
- Organization’s Federal ID number
- Most recent Form 990
- Current fiscal year income and expense statements
- Organization mission, staffing details, and population served
- Fiscal details such as endowment funds and annual operating expenses
- Board-approved project request and equal opportunity employment policy
- A detailed project budget and description
